Facial Photo Rejuvenation (BBL™ PhotoFacial, SkinTyte®,
Profractional®, MicroLaserPeel™)
Restore your skin's youthful appearance
Using either broad band light (multiple wavelengths) or laser
therapy (single wavelength) we can improve your skin’s appearance
and quality without surgery, and with minimal to no downtime.
BBL PhotoRejuvenation (BBL Photo Facial)
Broadband Light (BBL) is a safe and non-invasive PhotoRejuvenation
technology that is used to improve the signs of aging from the
face, neck, arms and hands. Treatments result in a consistent,
visible improvement of the skin with no downtime, little discomfort,
and minimal risk.
PhotoRejuvenation via broadband light (BBL) produces a broad
beam of highly concentrated light to treat facial redness and
flushing or skin discoloration from aging and sun damage. This
light is filtered to a wavelength that is selectively absorbed
by the target tissues with minimal effect on surrounding tissues.
Irregularities such as pigment marks, small blood vessels or clusters
of blood vessels will naturally absorb a lot more light energy
then the surrounding skin, resulting in less brown spots or fewer
blood vessels near the surface.
PhotoRejuvenation treatments with BBL are an in-office procedure
that typically requires four to six sessions of about 20 minutes
each, performed at approximately three-week intervals.
SkinTyte™, another photo facial treatment using BBL, is
designed to warm the deep layers of skin causing more collagen
to form, resulting in a tightening of the skin. There is essentially
no down time with the face being pink after the procedure.
Profractional® treatments to refresh your skin
Profractional® treatments using the Sciton® Profile Laser,
are state of the art treatments that will help air brush fine
wrinkles, reduce the appearance of pores and scarring of the face.
By removing micro-channels of damaged tissue, your body’s
natural healing will increase collagen and help build up the skin.
Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, there is a down
time of 3-7 days.
MicroLaserPeel™ – smoothing out the skin
A MicroLaserPeel™ using the Sciton® Profile Laser,
will very precisely remove the top layers of skin to help give
a smoother overall appearance. These peels will go beyond a microdermabrasion
but are not as aggressive as full skin resurfacing. These peels
can be combined with Profractional®, effectively treating
both the deeper skin and the surface irregularities.
Who Should Consider BBL PhotoRejuvenation?
BBL PhotoRejuvenation treatments are ideal for patients who want
a more consistent tone to their skin, and who have an active lifestyle
as the procedures have virtually no downtime and have very low
risk of side effects. Treatments can be peformed on any part of
the skin, but are especially common in areas of photoaged skin
of the face, neck, chest, arms and hands, removing age spots,
sun-induced freckles, most benign brown pigments, or redness caused
by enlarged capillaries.
If you have a suntan it is advisable to wait until you are back
to your base color before undergoing treatment because treating
tanned skin increases the possibility of unwanted side effects
such as pigment (color) changes, especially if the target is the
brown pigmentation.
You should not be pregnant or nursing to receive treatments, since
there have not been any trials on pregnant or nursing mothers.
If you are using or have used Accutane® you must have finished
this medication for at least 6 months before any treatments.
Who Should Consider Profractional® or MicroLaserPeel™
Treatments?
Anyone that is noticing fine wrinkles, enlarged pores, or scarring
of the face could be a candidate for a series of Profractonal®
treatments. Since this treatment helps encourage growth of collagen
in the deeper skin, it is often combined with a MicroLaserPeel™
that addresses the surface of the skin for a combined affect.
The procedures are usually repeated 3-4 times spaced 6-8 weeks
apart, but can be done repeatedly to achieve more results.
What can I expect from my BBL PhotoRejuvenation treatments?
After your first treatment, your skin will initially be very
pink for an hour or so. The brown spots will look darker and scattered.
You will usually see less red after treatments for veins. Both
treatments for red and brown will likely need to be repeated to
get the best results.
What can I expect from Profractional® treatments?
Depending on how aggressive your treatment is, you will have
a 3-7 day downtime where your skin is a little tender and rough.
You will not be able to put on makeup until the rough skin is
shed. You will tend to be pink for a few days after, at which
time you can apply makeup. The pink phase can vary.
What can I expect from a MicroLaserPeel™?
There will be a few days of downtime depending on how deep and
aggressive your treatment is. Your face will be tender, and you
will need to keep an ointment on it while the superficial skin
heals. A typical light MicroLaserPeel™ can be done on a
Friday and by Monday you can put makeup on, with skin that already
feels smoother with a nice glow.
